Trestle Pendants

March 27th, 2009 · No Comments · Modern Lighting

Trestle Pendants are lighting fixtures with a new twist on an old design.  This unique lighting fixture has been around for a couple years now, but many don’t know the purpose for its shape and why it’s useful when lighting your home.

The Trestle Pendant follows the same design and purpose of your standard Pendant light—a lighting fixture that hangs from the ceiling, illuminating a surface—usually a counter top or table.

However, there are important differences between these two light fixtures:

  • Standard Pendant lights contain one single lamp per fixture.  This single-lamp design concentrates light onto one spot, such as the center of a table.
  • The Trestle Pendant contains more than one lamp per fixture (usually 2-4).  The purpose of this multi-lamp trestle design is to stretch the light over the entire surface, evenly lighting an entire rectangular table for example.

The shape and functional benefits of Trestle Pendants make them an important addition to any home lighting design.
