2009 Color of the Year – Mimosa

June 4th, 2009 · No Comments · Lamps, Lighting Tips, Styles, Wall Sconces

Since 2009 has been flying by and we are half way through the year, many of you may have already heard (or noticed) that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2009 is Mimosa, a warm color of yellow.  This color is expected to flourish in the home decorating as well as fashion industries throughout the 2009 year.

The reason this color was chosen, as explained in a Pantone Press Release,  is that it is a color that offers hope and reassurance and tends to spark imagination and innovation—which is exactly what many of us need during this time of economic uncertainty.  In addition, it is a versatile hue that appeals to both men and women, and coordinates well with any other color.

As we continue to see yellow colors within Home Decorating, Lighting being no exception, I thought it would be fun to showcase some lights that fall within the yellow family and support the color of the year.  Who knows, maybe a fresh, fun color—one that matches the sun—is all we need to lift our spirits this time of year?
